The WOC community is directly impacting the lives of hundreds of Alabama foster kids. Members use their voice and generosity each year at the luncheon to decide where they want to invest their yearly contributions. Camp of Champions is a three-day, two-night annual camp at Shocco Springs for families and foster kids. While foster parents receive training, kids get to enjoy swimming, playing games, and learning about Jesus. Camp is more than just a weekend away—it provides kids with incredible memories that help heal a lifetime of pain. You can volunteer at camp by being a classroom teacher, golf cart driver, or serving on a hospitality team! 

Most children come to us with almost nothing. You can sponsor a Day One Care Pack to give them on the first day they enter foster care. These packs provide items they need, like clothes, diapers, and toys to help foster kids be successful in the classroom. You can help fill a Back-to-School pack by gathering items from our needs lists and assembling these bags for the kids.

Fostering can be a difficult journey for both our foster families and social workers. Your words and prayers can bring light to their darkest days. You can write notes of encouragement to ABCH foster families and social workers throughout the year. This is a very tangible way to offer support to our staff and foster families. 

For many foster kids, this is the first time they hear about the true meaning of Christmas. They experience the love of Christ through our foster families, and they see why we put our faith in Christ. You can share the hope of Christ with kids in foster care by sponsoring a child or volunteering to help wrap their gifts. 

The ABCH boards meet three times a year to provide strategic oversight, steward our resources, and support the advancement of our mission. After the meetings end, they enjoy lunch together. When children enter foster care, our desire is to see hope and healing for their families. That is why supervised visits with biological families are so important. Spending time playing together during these visits helps with this restoration process.
