Dr. Rod Marshall began his service with Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries (ABCH) in 1995 as a counselor. He oversaw the development and growth of Pathways Professional Counseling, helping it become the great ministry it is today. He began serving as President/CEO of ABCH on February 1, 2012.

Rod earned his Ph.D. from Regent University in Counselor Education and Supervision and has done additional post-graduate academic work at Mississippi State University and at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He has both a Masters and an Education Specialist degree in Agency Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Samford University in Religion and Human Relations.

Rod has been working in the mental health field for more than 25 years in diverse settings including hospitals, residential treatment settings, community mental health agencies, therapeutic foster care and private practice. For much of his career, he has specialized in working with children and families. He is available to lead workshops on a variety of topics related to mental health, families, and children.

Rod is an experienced presenter whose sense of humor and laid back presentation style keeps him in demand. He has presented throughout the Southeast, at professional conferences, at workshops and retreats, and in churches. He has also presented internationally in Spain and Honduras.

Rod has been married since 1988 to Leslie and is the proud father of two adult children. He and Leslie recently became grandparents! Rod enjoys riding his motorcycle and is a published author and photographer. He also enjoys spending time with his family and extended family and, being a beach bum at heart, looks forward to the too-seldom trips to the Alabama Gulf Coast or the Emerald Coast of Northwest Florida, where he grew up.
