ENGAGE YOUR CHURCH
Through no fault of their own, children enter foster care for various reasons. Some reasons include abuse or neglect, drug or alcohol use by caregivers, illness or death of a parent, incarceration, or homelessness within the family.
As a pastor or church leader, you want to see your church members making disciples as they engage in life-giving, gospel-centered orphan and foster care ministry. You recognize that caring for the orphan is clearly biblical and much needed, but the challenge is in knowing what this looks like and where to begin.
For those who do not feel called to adoption or foster parenting, the opportunities to fulfill the biblical mandate of caring for the most vulnerable in our society can seem few and far between.
Below are four areas of ministry that will help your church engage in meaningful orphan and foster care ministry.
