Our donors and church partners helped our moms and kids in Family Care during this unique season by participating in a drive-thru donation drop-off at our Birmingham office!

The Fisks decided to give monthly by becoming members of our Hero Partners. Through this generous commitment, they are making a continuous impact on children and families who need a home.

This fall, we were able to honor three volunteers in our Oxford office who have been serving our children and families for over 15 years!

Last year, Mackenzie* found herself in a very unhealthy relationship and in serious need of help. After getting connected and moving into our Family Care home in Alabaster, life took on a wonderful new direction for her and her girls.

Since the beginning of our ministry, the local church has been an essential partner in our mission to care for children and families in need across Alabama.

Our Hero Society donors provide monthly support for those in our care, and in this Spotlight, Ron and Cindy Carroll share how the ministry of ABCH has shaped their lives and those of their children and grandchildren.

Wray and Joan Pearce are making a tremendous impact for children and families. Like others who contribute in unique ways, the Pearce family takes hold of opportunities in front of them to serve with what God has entrusted to them.

It’s been a little over a year since the Jewells came on board with us at our Mobile campus as house parents. Just a few short years ago, they had no idea this is where the Lord would lead them, but they can’t imagine being anywhere else.

On our Decatur campus, we are blessed with awesome house parents who have served for many years. With that gift has also come the blessing of their biological children who, for the most part, have only ever known life on a Children’s Homes campus. We thought it would be fun to hear from some of them as they share some of their perspectives on day-to-day life and how life at ABCH has helped them see life outside of themselves.

“I can’t tell you how many times we’ve taken a break and we’ve said, okay, we’re done now, and then the Lord calls us back,” said James Wolfe. They laughed at this, remembering all of the times they thought they had “retired” from foster parenting, yet the Lord had a different plan.

Roots take time to dig in and grow, so we take the small steps of showing up and planting seeds. Stephan Scott experienced this process in his own life.

Everyone has a next step to care for children in need—whether that is giving financially, serving with their energy and time, or using the gifts God’s given them to enrich lives.
