Sunday
Join in the ministry of foster parenting by praying for foster parents and foster children as they worship in their local church today. The parents will need replenishment. The children need healing, salvation, and spiritual development.
Monday
Come alongside of foster children in prayer as they journey through their school year. It can be very difficult for them as they enter new schools and try to make new friends. Their family story can make them different than most which can be no fun. Pray for their teachers, tutors, and administrators to have wisdom and patience.
Tuesday
Today we are supporting social workers in prayer. Every foster family receives a social worker to help train and support. These individuals can find themselves doing almost anything you could imagine on a given day from sitting bedside of a sick child in the hospital about to come into our care to representing the innocent in family court.
Wednesday
Join us as we pray for the many resources being invested in foster parent ministry statewide. ABCH is the largest faith-based provider of foster care services in the state which takes scores of resources. We enjoy over 1,000 volunteers every year which saves us many expenses stretching our budget. The noncash donations we receive like diapers, strollers, and clothes mean so much to our foster families. Finally, the cash donations from individuals, business, and churches are absolutely transforming lives today through events like Camp of Champions and tomorrow by granting a debt-free college experience to foster children.
Thursday
Intercede for the ministry of Pathways Professional Counseling (an ABCH Ministry) and the sessions they conduct with our foster families. Jesus alone heals trauma and it’s a journey. Pathways licensed counselors are uniquely trained in therapeutic play that helps kids share and recover from their many life hurts. Pray for wisdom, insight, and light to overpower the darkness.
Friday
Pray for the biological parents of our foster children. Our goal is to see as many families reunified as possible which typically amounts to 80-85% of our children. Every week our social workers meet with biological parents in specifically designed settings to help them reattach physically and emotionally with their children. It doesn’t happen overnight, but by God’s grace we see it occur again and again.
Saturday
Pray for the churches that serve these foster families as they prepare the weekend worship services. Many foster children are experiencing church for the very first time. Where their former life felt very unsafe and unstable, the church can share the enduring love of Christ changing all eternity for these children.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
