ABCH Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries! Volunteers are a vital part of our ministry, and we are always encouraged to see individuals, churches, small groups, schools, business groups, and others, who are interested in partnering with us in the work the Lord is doing through our ministry to help children and families across Alabama.

Listed below are current volunteer opportunities within our ministry. If you are interested in serving in any of these areas, please fill out this short contact form to begin the conversation.

INDIRECT CARE // Opportunities could include:

  • Once a month, groups to supply either box dinners or frozen dinners for Family Care families

  • Car care two times a year at each campus (oil changes and tires rotated)

  • Reliable handymen (groups would supply materials and labor; experienced people only)

  • Grill days

  • Camp volunteer

  • General property maintenance 

DIRECT CARE // Opportunities could include

  • Big Kid, Little Kid Mentoring
  • One-on-One Mom Mentoring
  • Group mentorships
  • Group parties: supervising Family Care kids while moms are in group classes by providing fun activities for them and spending time with the kids (once a month)
  • Family Care babysitting, and/or Foster Care babysitting.



Opportunities could include:

  • General lawn care (weeding flower beds, trimming hedges, weed eating, trimming tree limbs, and raking leaves)

  • Painting (experience required)

  • General cleaning outside (pressure washing, porch cleaning, window washing, etc.)

  • Provide a meal. (feed 12 people) Basic meals are better.




Opportunities could include:

  • General lawn care

  • Skilled Labor (experience required; supplies are provided)
  • Seasonal needs ( Open house decorations, helping with mailings occasionally, helping sort Christmas gifts, wrapping Christmas gifts, and more)
  • Ongoing ("Jehovah's Closet" - donation organization and storage (need people at minimum twice a month, so this can be split up between groups and Meal for Friendship House)





  • Foster Care babysitting
  • Skills mentoring for young adults
  • Delivering meals to Campus
  • General outdoor cleaning
  • General lawn care
  • Sponsor a TIPS Foster Care training class

  • Car Maintenance for family care moms

  • Individual tutoring 

  • Foster Care Babysitting

  • Mom Mentor (Family Care) 

  • Group Mentor (Family Care)

  • CAMP OF CHAMPIONS // Camp of Champions is an event unique to our ministry! This time each June is special for the kids in our care, refreshing for parents, and a blessing for our staff. Contact us to learn more about specific volunteer needs.
