BIRMINGHAM

Counselor/Therapist

Pathways Professional Counseling, sister ministry of Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes, has an excellent full-time opportunity as a Professional Counselor/Therapist. This position would provide individual and family counseling to children, teens, and adults. They will also provide workshops, conferences, and be a resource to local churches as needed in order to bring hope and restoration to children, individuals, and families through the work of Jesus Christ. 

Applicants must have a master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work from an accredited college or university. Applicants must also hold a current Professional Counselor License from the State of Alabama or be working toward professional licensure. Comparable licensure will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If licensure is not obtained within 6 months, the employee may be ineligible to continue employment. Experience in individual and group counseling with a wide range of clients, including children. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evening hours.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good driving record, and pass pre-employment screenings including criminal background. DECATUR

House Parents (Relief)

Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes has an excellent full-time opportunity for a committed Christian couple to serve as Relief House Parents for children from backgrounds of abuse and neglect. Previous experience working with children and youth preferred. Work schedule is 6 days on duty and 3 days off duty, working in our Campus Care and Shelter Care homes on the Decatur Campus.

Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent, be able to demonstrate a good driving record, and pass pre-employment screenings including criminal background. Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes offers excellent benefits and retirement plans including medical, dental, vision, 403(b), life and disability insurance, as well as paid vacation and sick time.
