Group Homes

Most children who come into our care who are school-aged begin living in one of our group homes. If we feel that a foster family would better meet their needs, that option is also available.

In a group home, children may live with 6-8 other children and two house parents who care and provide for the children. They have access to church, community and school activities when applicable.

Group homes may be community-based homes, as in our Gardendale or Dothan homes. These are homes in a neighborhood that are indistinguishable from the homes around them. Generally these house only boys or only girls, or may house a sibling group of brothers and sisters.

We also have group homes in a campus setting, such as in Decatur and Mobile. These are homes grouped around a regional office and are separated into boys’ and girls’ homes.

Our house parents are loving, Christian individuals and couples who have been through a rigorous approval process including criminal history background checks, fingerprinting and training.

Children in our care are also encouraged to maintain relationships with family and friends when possible. They have access to our Pathways Professional Counselors if needed, and we meet their medical as well as spiritual, emotional and physical needs.

We work with all involved to ensure the best possible care for every child in our ministry.
