Hope and Wholeness Dinner - A Recap
Our first annual celebration of “Hope and Wholeness” was held on Thursday, February 9, in Dothan, Alabama. The event took place at Calvary Baptist Church and was hosted by the Dothan Regional Advisory Board, an active group of young, volunteer leaders passionate for the work we do. Included in attendance were ABCH foster families, staff members, donors, trustees, and individuals interested in learning about ABCH—some even for the first time.
Guests enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Pepi Foods and were given the opportunity to hear about the impact of ABCH through our families, video testimonials, and several speakers, including our President, Rod Marshall, Area Director for Southeast Alabama, Kim McGainey, and our Chief Operations Officer, South Alabama, Dana Watson.
While Dana currently serves on staff with ABCH, he was first introduced to the Children’s Homes as an 11-year-old boy when he became a resident of the Mobile campus. In hearing his story and through our other speakers, attendees were encouraged by the impact ABCH has had on children in the past, and they left expectant to see how the Lord will work through our ministry in the future.

Toward the end of the evening, some of our foster families and adoptive children were given the opportunity to share with the audience what they loved most about their family! This was powerful for everyone to see, even to those that work directly with foster and adoptive children each day.

We were encouraged to see how those in the Wiregrass area rallied together to help make this night a success! We would like to thank Calvary Baptist Church, Carroll’s Nursery, Clint Asselin, Eagle Eye Outfitters, Humphreys Periodontics & Dental Implants, Jonathan and Jennifer Blair, Nolan Dykes, and Pepi Foods for investing their time, talents, and resources into this event.
